there was a girl at work who was recently hired who is pretty damn cool. i had been trying to figure out what side of the sexuality fence she sat on. i was hoping mine, just cuz. i was intrigued by her choice of footwear- most notably a pair of merrells, that had maybe led me to believe that she was indeed keen on the ladies. as i got to know her more and more, her history of ex-boyfriends started to show and so i naturally assumed, despite my previous inclinations and desires, that she was straight.

long story short- we have been hanging out quite a bit, i mean i see her every day at work and we traipsed about the city together last weekend for l00ptopia and have been buddy buddy at work events. turns out she has a crush on me. i found out from a mutual friend/co-worker she had confided in. when mutual friend asked her if this was the first crush she'd ever had a girl, apparently her response was "like this it is." gives me some butterflies.

the problem is quite obvious. work. there is little room for anything to happen, and not have it end up being messy. though i admit the last couple times we've hung out i have been very tempted to sneak in a kiss- though the opportunity has not presented itself. she's cool, what can i say? the fact that she likes me back is really quite surprising, as i'm not used to being in the situation where feelings are reciprocated.

of course a crush is just a crush and that doesn't mean she even wants to take it to a physical level at all. you know- straight girls and all. they've got their limitations. still i can't help but like the tension (sexual or otherwise) that is between us. butterflies, yo. it's exciting. it feels good.

can anyone please explain to me why i keep getting wrapped up in girls who have things in their house that are guaranteed to make me sneeze?
